Does this app handle payments or transfers?

No. Iron Split only records and calculates who owes whom. Payments are handled separately.

How can expenses be split? Does it have to be equal?

Not necessarily. You can split evenly, by ratio, or assign exact amounts to each person.

Can an expense be shared by only some members?

Yes. You can choose which members are included for each expense.

Can one expense be split into parts, like food and drinks?

Yes. A single expense can be broken into multiple items, each with its own split method.

Why does a remainder sometimes appear?

Remainders can occur during expense splitting or currency conversion, to keep the total accurate.

How does the Remainder Rule work?

You can choose Random, Order, or assign it to a specific member.

Can we record prepayments first and settle everything later?

Yes. Record what each person paid in advance, and the final settlement will calculate the difference automatically.

Can I record expenses for someone who hasn't joined yet?

Yes. You can add them first and link them later after they join.

Can members join midway or be removed?

+

Yes. Members can join anytime, and the task creator can remove them. Existing records won't be affected.

Does a task always need to be settled?

No. You can close a task without settling.

Can anything be changed after settlement?

+

No. Once settled, the data is locked to prevent changes.

Can I export the data after settlement?

Yes. You can export records for saving or review.

How long is the data kept?

Data is kept for 30 days after the task ends, then automatically deleted.

How do I join someone else's split?

You can join via an invite link, QR code, or invite code.

Why do I need to download the app to join?

Because basic setup and record tracking are required to participate properly.
